I mic every single time I play out - whether it's a small or big gig/venue. What you hear on the stage is totally different than what the audience is hearing. Plus, sometimes you (usually it's the sound man) may not want a loud stage volume. Anyway, I think it sits better in the mix when ur amp is mic'd up. Come to think about it, I don't think I've ever played out w/o being mic'd?

I do, I do like the MG series but i also like Peavys so i get what you are saying

HAHA that's fair enough, but do you see my point? x

I dont mic up because theres no need when you have a VK100 and a Rivera Knucklehead running side by side.

I assume your saying you don't mic up at gigs. A 50w tube amp, say the peavey valveking 112, would absolutely decimate the MG100DFX in both volume and tone and at the same price it really is a no brainer tbh. I personally Gig with a Blues junior and if the venue dictates is i simply get mic'd through the pa or just run my GT8 from the line out. There are far better sounding alternatives to the Marshall MG series. Ultimately though it's your decision when buying an amp it's a preference. X

I don't...

But for the price of the MG100DFX you can get a small tube amp that sounds far superior! It may be quieter but most people mike up at gigs anyway! x

You don't need to be an expert guitar player to demo a pedal
