talking about offending, for example,

actually there is an earlier version of Ave Maria. Josquin wrote one (and there are probably more before him) around the 1480's. just fyi.

I'm Catholic. It doesn't offend us. Why would it?
I personally think its beautiful. Even if I hated it, it wouldn't offend me. Any version of Ave Maria is in Mary's honor.
It doesn't bother me if you dislike it, but don't say that it offends the Catholic faith without any reason.
