ah, i found that passageway area level when i was messing around with gameshark but i never knew what it was for as i hadn't seen it anywhere in the game, thanks for clearing things up for me.

My cousin said that in the Japanese version of OoT,there was an extra sage and a temple and the boss was dark link but I think he was lying.
