This was originally meant for Kenny Rogers (it was written by Larry Henley and Jeff Silbar) but he turned it down - ironic that he would go on to present Bettie Midler's Grammy for the song

I love this movie.. and song!!
I read the book 5 years ago and then I found out that my parents actually saw the movie before I was born.
I had to watch it.. I cried at the end of the movie and the book...... It's a wonderful story
and I absolutely admire Bette Midler's singing here

This is in the same tradition as the French songs of the notorious Edith Piaf loaded with emotion and feelings. Bette Midler achieves that level of "entendement" where words are beyond all understanding. Thank you Bette Midler ! |
