Newt challenges Barack Obama to talk about Detroit, including a compelling description of the rise and fall of the once great city and how to fix it. This clip is taken from Gingrich's March 27th response to Barack Obama entitled "What is the Right Change to Help All Americans Pursue Happiness and Create Prosperity?" saying that the government is at fault for not funding schools is bullshit people who went to school in one room schoolhouses with no money got a better education than the idiots today. so money has NOTHING to do with it.

Mr. Gingrich, I really enjoy your lectures. Some time ago I bought your book "Real Change" and am sharing it with everyone I know. I feel that you are among a very few real conservatives that are willing to state the difficult truths and explore the answers we need so desperately in America. Please keep up your great work and don't be disheartened by the silly criticisms. God bless you. Bill Wilson

People want the government to intervene at thier convienience."Fuck the cops" and "Fuck the government" are the attitudes but then motherfuckers rely on both of them.I dont like most cops and most governement officials but then again i dont call cops nor rely on government.People need to man the fuck up and take control of thier own lives.

LOL....For your information,i have lived in the "hood" most of my life. But even if i didnt, that wouldnt dismiss me from the argument as you tried to do.I highly doubt you had it rougher than me my man.You went to school,i did the things you hear about.Only thing is, i grew up with an understanding of accountablity....You think the way i did when i was 16.The blame game is weak.

Ok, poor neighborhood, drug infested, you have those that want to learn and those that want the drug game.. So Im a hard working student but the drug dealers don't like me and since the cops don't give a damn, they don't make many arrests. I get jumped and cut every now and again until I can't take it anymore and finally kill one of them or beat some one up and they eventually kill me. So... do you see how this works? But I guess you never grew up in the hood so u don't have a clue do you?

So long standing communities with a poor education system and area with rampant drugs that has NOTHING to do with the the governments responsibilities? Listen, if an area is flooded with Drugs, its not the communities responsibility to arrest and stop the influx of drugs. Further more the public education system is to be funded properly so that the ROOTS of said community will enrich its youth and leaders for that community. So don't play this run around nonsense with me and absolve govt.
FIGHTSANDARGUMENTS (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
How is it not the people who live there that make a place a community?Commerce,Education,Duty...all these things start from the ground up,you cant blame the goverment for a particular areas decline (there are exceptions)...It the money and more importantly effort that make communities prosper.

I'm always ready for reasonable discussion but when you try to slide in insults by speaking to me like I'm aloof then you'll get one as well but I'll be direct about it. The mere fact that your insinuating that the people "ruined" these neighborhoods is the furthest thing from the truth. The truth is that the City and Federal government slight them by not funding their school system properly and they are also poorly policed. Its more too it that what you just asserted, so don't feed me soup.
