So you're telling me, each year for 30 years, Canada couldn't once send their best players to an INTERNATIONAL sport rather than a domestic tournament?

What association does the NHL have with the Olympics? I can't for the life of me understand why you can't comprehend this. When the winter Olympics come around every 4 years they happen right in the middle of the NHL season. So since 1998 the NHL shuts down for 2 weeks so that there players can participate in the games. Prior to that Canada had to send amature players to represent Canada. The Soviets were dominating because there best weren't playing in the NHL at that time so they could go.

You are obviously retarded or can't read. I said we couldn't send our BEST players back then because the NHL wasn't particapating in the olympics. What that means is that our countries best players weren't at the olympics because they were playing for their NHL teams and couldn't be a part of team Canada. So we had to send players that weren't pros while Russia sent there BEST players because Russians weren't coming over to the NHL at that time. Do you really know anything about Hockey?

Canada did not have any good players for 30 years! Do you listen to yourself? Don't tell me a whole nation capable of sending her team to any kind of sport, didn't because of what? Fundings? And I also agree with "Russians don't want to touch the puck anymore" because that is exactly why they kicked Canadian ass.

Again I must point out that Russia's "Supremacy" for over 30 years was due to the fact that they weren't playing against Canada's best players, which is why the 72 series was started and we all know what happened there. People outside of Canada want to say that fighting, intimidation and physical play isn't a part of the game but it is and it always will be. Russians and all Europeon players don't want to touch the puck anymore after they've been smashed through the boards a few times.

No, I cannot name a Russian hockey player that can fight beacause I am not a specialist on the subject. However, I must state that elements rise and fall in life, just like Empires. Yes, the Soviet Hockey Team was beaten in '72 after her supremacy for 30 years old. Yet, Russia has just kicked your ass so that means we are better according to you. By the way, hockey is not for fighting, that's for the American football. If you watch Russian games, there are barely any hostilities between players.

good answer;-)))

Again you are off point. I'm talking about hockey, not MMA. Name me one Russian hockey player that can fight. If the Soviet team was so unbeatable then how come Canada kicked there ass in the 72 series when it was best on best? How come Canada has won 4 straight world jr. titles? What happened in the Jr. Super Series a little over a year ago? I'm not saying Russians can't play hockey, I'm just saying that they are gutless pussies when it comes to the physical aspect of the game.

You want me to name you a Russian professional fighter or a Russian hockey player fighter? For professional fighters, we have guys like Fedor or Tishchenko. Look at the Olympic Wrestling or Boxing winners, almost all are Russians. And yes, Zubov, Malkin, Datsuk, etc is defiantely comprable to any of your players and are even better overall. Just because he is not famous to your country, doesn't mean he's nothing. Reason Soviet Team was unbeatable was because it was the best.
