I love this! I gotta' admit, though, that the narrator's pronunciation of "kawnkobah" is laughable! Correctly, the first syllable should be kon (with a hard "o" as in coke) and the n is more of a nasal n than a tongue to the top of the mouth.
All that is semantics and besides the point. God I wish I could have seen this stuff danced 80 years ago! The ballet styles have changed this music and dance so much. I wonder what the djembefolas sounded like back then...

Ok thx, western is really not like african culture, but there are lots of richness in western culture too and it´s varied and huge.We can´t compare, they are completely different.

thank you for posting this video! i really enjoyed this piece of heritage that was lost during my ancestors voyage to America. Only among Africans can different religious traditions be synchronized into One spiritual culture. we are truly spiritual beings in tune with the spirits of nature. I AM trying to awaken and reclaim this part of our roots in the midst of Western ridicule and ignorance. |
