This level is my favourite in the game and yes you do pick up the Automatic Pistols from that guy. The Uzis are in the next level.

I know I use to play Tomb Raider 2 around my dad a lot and when I play TR3 or TR4 or something he'll go "Uh huh" everytime I find something! haha =p
