Stop after the first 1/4" of drilling on all sides. Change the bit with one that has the center drill cut off. The end product will give the inside cube a flat surface without any center holes, making it that much more mysterious!

Just finished cutting my first one. My inner cube chipped a bit while i was releasing it. The next one will turn out much better im sure. Great video!

@fastgs1 smoke mean too hot i sugest to do step by step instead of one shot to let your brill bit and wood piece cool down
is your drill bit old?? if yes maybe its not sharp and cause more friction than cut
