These ARE the original lyrics, back in 1986. As in any masterpiece, music, actors and lyrics are constantly modified until the authors are satisfied. Fortunately Michael Crawford was appointed to play the phantom instead of Steve Harley. Certainly, this musical and its film version in 2004 are the most popular adaptations of the book.

compared to the more recent movie, well, this is terrible. The set looked like my little sis created it and the lady's eyes scare me.
Oh, and the phantom looks like a retarded alien.

i like Emmy and Gerard's voices better, but I like these lyrics better than the ones in the movie. I think they should of sang this version for the ending credits part.

Not actually. In the movie there was gerard butler and emily rossum. see it, I think that's very good. Maybe I can say that (without someone killing me at night :D) that's much better than this one. |
