Hey excellent video. I live in Sitka myself. Umm but I wouldn't consider licoln street our main street as it only runs the width of downtown which is tiny. I would say that Halibut Point road of Sawmill creek road would be the main roads as almost everyone has to drive or cross them everyday to get to school or work. But great vid! Oh and who did you stay with? Just cuz it's a small town where everyone kinda knows everyone. (sorry for any bad grammer/spelling i'm 14)

Hey i live in sitka and it's beutiful, you got most of your stuff right but alot wrong as well. The woods area next to where you were in the opening isn't a park. Also when you where on lincoln street and you said it was the main street that was partialy right and partialy wrong, it's the main street for the downtown area but our downtown area is tiny I would say the main streets would be Halibut point road and sawmill creek road because no matter where you live you will have to cross or...

I live in Sitka, AK. I was born and raised in this little town. Sitka has very little to offer. Living here is very expensive and we call this town "the rock" for a reason. It WOULD be a good place to retire because Sitka on sunny days is the most beautiful thing every...but we have very few sunny days...

Thanks for posting a steady video. Well narrated good shots. It was interesting to see Alaska in a visitors perspective. Thanks

Thanks for sharing this video, we have been to Sitka several times. Our son and his wife live there. I even saw the Ben Franklin in your video. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment. I, the creator of the movie, am from Seattle. The family members we visited have lived in Sitka for a long, long time. They have amazing stories about flying out in the winter but our flights and weather were really great last summer.

Nicely narrated in an adult, professional manner. Well done. You are from California, apparently, as am I. I was googling a newscaster from L.A. circa 1970's 1980's just out of curiosity named Christine Lund and found that she had retired near Sitka. She is the ONLY year around resident of a small village which can only be reached by boat or float plane out of Sitka. Being from CA, I can relate to your comment that the "dark and cold" winters pose a mental barrier to living there year around.

Oh, I didn't live there. My family and I took an Alaskan Cruise and really fell for Sitka while we were there. I'm told that living there can be challenging due to the long, dark winters. It is a beautiful place though.
